Police in New Castle are hoping surveillance video and social media will lead them to two people who stole a Jeep from a convenience store parking lot.

Video posted on the police department’s Facebook page show two people casually walking in front of the APLUS market on Washington Street.

The video shows a suspect wearing a green hooded sweatshirt looking over his shoulder into the store before hopping into a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee parked near the gas pumps.

The second suspect, wearing a dark hoodie, turns around and runs to the Jeep, jumping into the passenger seat.

Police, who say the theft occurred on October 8, says the Jeep had a PA license number LJZ502.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspects or the location of the vehicle is asked to contact the NCPD at 724-656-9300 or tips can be left on a tipline at www.newcastlepd.com.
