Local high schools preparing to send off football teams for State Championship games
Three high schools in the Mahoning Valley have made it to state Championship games, and the community is celebrating by sending these teams off before the big day.
South Range High School remains undefeated this season and will be going up against Ironton who's also undefeated.
A rally for the team is scheduled to be held on Thursday December 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the South Range High School Gymnasium. The community is invited to cheer on the team and coaches.
The following day at 7:00 a.m. the team, the marching band and the cheerleaders will all be in the high school parking lot for the big sendoff.
The Raiders are scheduled to play the Ironton Fighting Tigers at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 2.
Warren JFK High School also made the championship. The Eagles will be playing the New Bremen Cardinals on Saturday, December 3.
The school will be hosting a team sendoff on Friday, December 2 at 12:45 p.m. The community is invited to gather in the Gillen Gymnasium to cheer the team on.
This will be Warren JFK's eighth consecutive playoff appearance with the Eagles looking to secure their third state title after winning in 1991 and 2016.
Canfield High School also made it to the championships. The Cardinals will be playing the Bloom Carroll Bulldogs on Friday, December 2 at 3:00 p.m. The school will be hosting a pep rally for students during school hours on Thursday, December 1.
The public will also get a chance to meet the team and send them off on Friday, December 2 in the school parking lot near the locker room at 10:30 a.m.
