Poland Schools: Driver shortage could delay bus routes Monday

POLAND, Ohio - The Poland Local School District is letting parents know that some school buses could be late on Monday.
According to the district’s website, due to a limited number of drivers on Monday, December 5, 2022, there is a potential for pickup and drop-off delays on some routes.
It was this school year that the district began cluster stops on some bus routes for students in grades 4 through 12.
Cluster stops are designated within neighborhoods where students gather in order to be picked up by their bus. Cluster stops are all within a half-mile radius from students' originating residences.
A shortage of bus drivers is nothing new for school districts around the Valley. Last March the Poland School District hosted a meeting with superintendents throughout the Valley to discuss solutions to the lack of qualified drivers.
