Mahoning Commissioner vote recount results expected Tuesday
Since the margin of victory was withing one-half-of-one percent, an automatic recount was mandated
YOUNGSTOWN - Official results in the race for Mahoning County Commissioner are now not expected until Tuesday, December 13.
It's been one month since Election Day when the unofficial tally showed incumbent Democrat Carol Rimedio-Righetti beating Republican Challenger Gene DiFabio by 137 votes.
Since the margin of victory was withing one-half-of-one percent, an automatic recount was mandated.
That tedious process began Wednesday which includes a hand recount and running the 85,000 ballots through the counting machines again.
The final count is expected to be revealed during a special meeting of the Mahoning County Board of Elections scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday.
