The Cafaro Foundation donates $10,000 to Canfield School District
The Canfield Cardinals rally continues for the Division III state title champions defeating the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs, 35-14 in Canton on December 3.
Tuesday, the football was honored by the Cafaro Foundation for its good work on the field and was rewarded for its hard efforts Tuesday with a $10,000 donation to the school district to be used for whatever the district may need.
Canfield Superintendent Joe Knoll told 21 News he was overwhelmed by the generous donation and would be talking with board members over the holidays to come up with a plan on how the district can best use the money.
"It's a good problem to have," Knoll said.
The presentation took place at the center court inside the Eastwood Mall, and the representatives from the mall said that two other local teams that won state championships - South Range and Hickory High School - will also be honored in upcoming rallies, which will be announced soon.
This is the first State Championship in program history for Canfield.
