Charges filed against two juvenile girls after fight at Southern Park Mall

Two juvenile girls were arrested Monday evening after a fight broke out at the Southern Park Mall.
Officers working security at the mall called Boardman Police for assistance after initial reports of fighting around 5 p.m. Once on scene, one officer was approached by a juvenile who reported being the victim of assault.
Other officers were standing near the doors of a department store when a fight between two other juveniles broke out.
Officers verbally warned the girls to stop, but the two continued to pull each other's hair.
According to a police report, officers pulled the girls apart. As an officer attempted to handcuff one girl, the other attempted to kick her, nearly striking the officer.
Police took both girls into custody before releasing them to their parents. The two are charged with 'unruly juvenile.'
