Ohio State Highway Patrol raises max age for cadets
Cadets between the ages of 21 and 40 may now apply.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is raising the maximum age to apply to the training academy.
Cadets between the ages of 21 and 40 may now apply.
The previous age requirement maximum to enter academy training was 35.
There are a number of other requirements to enter the academy including:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid drivers license with less than six points
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be an Ohio resident
OSP is currently hiring and offering a signing bonus for graduating cadets.
Cadets are paid $22 per hour and receive benefits while in training. Troopers start out at $30.28 hourly in their first year and top out at $39.51 after six years.
