A 44-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after an attempted stop by a Trumbull County Sheriffs' vehicle led to the suspect allegedly attempting to flee the scene, and crashing into an unmarked police vehicle and crashed into a utility pole.

According to the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office and the TAG Drug Task Force, the sheriff's officer attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Stanley Redd on Warren Meadville Rd., after a brief pursuit. Redd pulled over, but according to the police officer, put his vehicle in reverse, nearly striking the sheriff's car.

Redd allegedly drove through a yard, and back onto the road, striking an unmarked police vehicle. Redd lost control of his vehicle and then hit a utility pole and a tree.

Redd was then taken into custody.

The reported stated that officers found suspected narcotics and money were seized during Redd’s arrest.

The Sheriff's Office stated that Redd is known to have multiple outstanding arrest warrants and is an alledged violent drug offender.

Redd was charged with multiple traffic violations and felony failure to comply, along with the outstanding warrants for his arrest. The suspected narcotics will be tested, and additional charges may be filed.

Redd was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries that he sustained as a result of the crash.
