WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg has updated President Biden regarding his recent visit to East Palestine.

Buttigieg was in town Thursday afternoon to visit with workers and local officials, as well as take a look at the derailment site for himself and outline the recently-released NTSB report.

In addition, U.S. EPA Administrator, Michael Regan updated the president on the EPA's orders to Norfolk Southern, recently laid out during a press conference held in the village on Tuesday.

In short, Regan ordered Norfolk Southern to pay for all cleanup actions related to the derailment, as well as attend any public events they are ordered to following concerns regarding the company's refusal to show up for an informational session last week.

Meanwhile, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Secretary, Xavier Becerra and FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell outlined the federal support and coordination HHS, CDC and FEMA are providing to assist with ongoing health and safety support.
