Gas prices in Northeast Ohio continue to fall with one local area having the lowest prices in the region.

According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of unleaded gas in Northeast Ohio dropped 11 cents to $3.141.

That price is lower than the average for the same time period in 2022.

Niles has the lowest average price in the region at $2.916 per gallon. Youngstown's average is $3.063.

The national average for a gallon fell five cents over the last week for a price of $3.36.

The main reason for the decrease is the price of oil, which fell into the mid $70 range per barrel. The price decline led to the price drop even as supply decreased and demand increased nationally.
