BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio -  A Boardman man faces charges after police say he tried to keep them out of his home to investigate the welfare of a woman who claimed he forced her into the attic.

Brian Moffo, 40, has another court hearing set in two weeks on charges of domestic violence, unlawful restraint, and obstructing official business.

U.S. Marshals and township police were called to the couple’s Beechwood Drive home on Thursday to check on the 38-year-old woman after getting reports of possible domestic violence.

Police say Moffo attempted to keep them out of the house and lied to officers.

Once inside, the woman, who police say had visible injuries, told them that Moffo had prevented her from leaving the home, forcing her into an attic storage area.

Moffo was booked into the county jail. His probation officer was contacted because of a previous domestic violence conviction.
