Pfizer has announced a recall of a popular prescription migraine tablet.

Over 4 million packs of Nurtec are included in the recall due to faulty packaging. The Poison Prevention Packaging Act requires that all prescription drugs be sold in child resistant packaging. The packaging of the units included in the recall is not child resistant.

The recall involves Nurtec that is sold in packaging containing one blister card of 8 tablets.

Anyone who has a recalled Nurtec pack is asked to immediately remove it from the sight and reach of children, and contact Pfizer for a free child resistant pouch to store the product in. Once secured, the product itself is fine to use as directed.

The affected units were prescribed from December of 2021 to March of 2023.

No injuries related to the recall have been reported so far.

Pfizer can be contacted at 800-879-3477 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. or online at www.pfizer.com/contact.
