EAST PALESTINE, Ohio - The Ohio Department of Agriculture's Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL) has released the final lab results for two dead cats from the East Palestine area.

According to the release, the stray cats showed no evidence of chemical toxicity as a cause of death.

The cats had been under veterinary care with upper respiratory issues prior to being submitted to the ADDL.

A pet dog that lived near the train derailment site was also submitted at that time.

So far, final testing results of dead wildlife in the East Palestine area have not shown signs of chemical toxicity.

If your pet has died for an unknown reason, contact your local vet. The general public is not allowed to submit an animal for testing without a veterinarian's order.
