Celebration of life for Youngstown teen Wednesday

Family and friends will gather Wednesday to celebrate the life of 15-year-old Amya Monserrat who died from a gunshot wound in April.
She was a freshman at Valley Christian High School. She had several hobbies including doing hair, cheerleading, dancing and spending time with her siblings.
Visitation hours will be on April 26 from 10 a.m. to noon, and a Celebration of the Life of Amya Monserrat is scheduled to follow the visitation at noon. Both will be held at Stambaugh Auditorium which can be found at 1000 Fifth Ave. in Youngstown.
Everyone in attendance is expected to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Donations for the family can be sent to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home. Flowers can be sent to the family and donators can choose to plant a tree in her memory. Those options are available on the obituary for Monserrat through the funeral home which is linked here.
