Canfield softball falls to Tallmadge, finishes state runner-up
Tallmadge knocked off Canfield 9-0 in the Division II State Softball Championship.
The Canfield softball team finished the season as state runner-up in Division II after falling to Tallmadge, 9-0.
Cardinals pitcher Malena Toth struck out four of the first six batters and finished with six strikeouts on the day.
The Blue Devils got things going offensively in the top of the fourth inning when they scored four runs.
They followed it up with four more runs in the top of the 5th.
Canfield reached the state final four for the first time since 2008 and finished the season 24-3-2.
