Celebration of EP Voices event aims to bring positivity to East Palestine, proceeds benefit developmentally disabled community

EAST PALESTINE, Ohio - Months after the East Palestine train derailment, clients of Threshold Residential services are getting back into the swing of things.
“Life is normal for us so we're just trying to make the best of the situation,”
The organization helps those in the developmentally disabled community find housing, employment opportunities, and offers direct care in Columbiana County.
When the train derailed in East Palestine, all 21 clients from Threshold had to evacuate and stay in a hotel. But, through it all they’ve found the bright side.
“It was like a little trip for them, like a little vacation so they looked at it with much less stress then we did,” Page said.
Now that they’re back in their homes, they want to celebrate. On Thursday June 8, Threshold staff, clients and community members will enjoy some dinner and dancing at the “Celebration of EP Voices” event.
“We’re caring for some of the most mentally fragile people in the world so to show that we can navigate this obstacle and overcome it - we want that to be the positive side that comes out of this,” Page said.
All proceeds from the event will provide renovations, technology, and innovations to the members of the East Palestine developmentally disabled community.
Celebration of EP Voices will be at The Barn at Firestone Farms from 5 - 8 p.m. on Thursday June 8.
