It was an era when children came home when the street lights came on.

Playing outside and not coming home until dark was the norm for kids in the 1970s, as parents believed their children were safe.

That was until two Valley children were both found dead in Boardman Township, Bradley Bellino, in 1972 and David Evans in 1975.

Both were killed according to the police by Joseph Norman Hill, a family man who lived on Shadyside until he left the Valley in 1978.

In this 21 News podcast, we talk with former Boardman Chief of Police Glenn Bowers who was on the force and helped investigate these cold cases, and shares what it was like work trying to find a child killer in the community.
