WARREN, Ohio - A Warren man is accused of killing his girlfriend's fish by pouring bleach and vinegar into her fish tank.

According to a police report, Warren Police responded to a home on the 1200 block of Mazda Avenue NE on Sunday for a disturbance.

Upon arrival police located a man, later identified as 60-year-old Cornell Evans standing outside shirtless. Police say the left side of his face was bloody and swollen.

Police say Evans was and his girlfriend, identified as 51-year-old Charmaine Magee were arguing because her ex boyfriend had texted her and she thought Evans was talking to another woman.

Evans told police that Magee took what he believes to be a TV tray and hit him in the face with it. According to the report, Magee locked the bedroom door after this, but Evans kicked it in to get his phone to call police. Magee denied hitting Evans.

Magee told police that Evans took bleach and vinegar and poured it into her fish tanks. Police found a bottle of bleach on the living room floor and a bottle of vinegar on the bathroom floor. Police say the house smelled of bleach as well.

Police say all fish in the fish tank were laying upside down motionless at the bottom of the tank and the turtles were swimming franticly in their tank as if something was wrong. Police also noted that the wires of the fish tank had been moved as if someone moved them to pour something in.

Due to Evans' claims and the extent of his injuries, police arrested Magee (pictured below) for domestic violence. She pled not guilty to this charge in court on Monday.

Police say as they were arresting her, she was not cooperating and at one point yelled at Evans that she would kill him and again told officers that she would kill him if he touched her stuff while being transported to jail.
