Trumbull County Prosecutor opposes parole for serial rapist convicted of rapes in multiple states

WARREN, Ohio - WARNING: This story contains details some readers may find disturbing
Trumbull County Prosecutor, Dennis Watkins has written a letter opposing the parole of a "serial rapist" who was convicted of numerous rapes and numerous states.
According to the letter, 65-year-old Willis Reitz's rape convictions date all the way back to 1977 when he raped a woman in North Carolina and was sentenced for four years of probation.
He soon expanded his crimes to Mississippi and Ohio serving 15 years for a 1987 rape in Mississippi, but was released early. In 1994, he was convicted one final time in Trumbull County and is currently serving 15 years to life in prison.
Reitz has had numerous victims over the years including his own daughter, who he raped when she was six years old and continued to do so when he got out of prison seven years later. He's been in prison since June of 1994.
Watkins did not hold back on his thoughts on Reitz describing him as a "disturbing and scary creature" as well as "one of the worst of the worst pedophiles."
"In my thinking, three strikes you're out and with sex offense convictions in three different states ... Reitz has personally traveled many miles to earn a continued stay to insure public safety. Don't cancel our insurance policy by releasing Reitz on parole," Watkins said.
