WARREN, Ohio - Police in Warren have charged a woman in connection with the suspected drug overdose of a 16-week-old baby.
Alfreda Provitt, 26, is charged with one count of child endangering.
Provitt lives at an apartment in The Elms high-rise on Plaza Avenue where police were called on Wednesday after a baby boy she was watching had stopped breathing.
The baby, whose skin was reported to be turning gray, was rushed to a hospital and given the opiate overdose antidote Narcan because EMTs suspected a drug overdose.
Police say the infant, who was revived after receiving the Narcan, was transferred to Akron Children's Hospital.
The prosecutor has issued a warrant for Provitt’s arrest.
