Judge hands down 1-year prison sentence for hit-and-run that killed Poland man

YOUNGSTOWN - A Youngstown man has been sentenced to spend one year in prison for a hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a Poland man.
The sentence was handed down Thursday to 31-year-old Montreal Moore, who pleaded guilty earlier to an indictment charging him with leaving the scene of an accident.
According to a Youngstown Police report, Moore was driving a Land Rover that struck 63-year-old Jovan Vuckovic as he was walking along East Indianola Avenue the night of September 7 of last year.
A witness gave the police a description of the vehicle that drove away.
Vuckovic was taken to Mercy Hospital where he died.
Under Ohio law, Moore could have been given a three-year sentence. Prosecuting attorneys had recommended two years.
