Struthers Police have arrested the suspect in a drive by shooting at a home on Elm Street that injured one person.

According to police, officers arrested Angel Chico, 27, Friday evening on charges of felonious assault and domestic violence.

When patrolmen arrived at the home on Friday, they saw several people on the front porch surrounding a man on the floor. The man had a shirt wrapped around his leg, saturated in blood.

Witnesses told police a man in a gray Volkswagen Jetta drove by the house and fired one shot, hitting the victim in the leg. The suspect then fled from the scene, heading eastbound down Elm Street.

Police identified their suspect as Angel Chico of Campbell. A woman living at the house told officers she has an active protection order against Chico.

The shooting victim told police he was on the porch with the woman, when the suspect drove by and raised what appeared to be a small pistol out the window before firing a shot.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Chico was booked into the Mahoning County Jail early Saturday morning.
