Officers respond to several reports of gun violence in Warren
Over the weekend, officers were called to several separate reports of shots fired throughout Warren.
On Saturday, July 29, a man was taken to the hospital after he was shot while walking in the city.
Shortly after 6 a.m., Warren officers were dispatched to Trumbull Regional Medical Center for reports of a patient fighting with the staff. While at the hospital, officers observed a gunshot wound victim arriving on a cot by EMT.
According to a report, the victim told officers he was walking on Front Street towards Parkman Road when he was shot in his right thigh. He told officers that he did not know what happened, and did not see anyone or hear any gunshots prior to being shot. He also was unaware of how he got to the hospital.
Also on Saturday, July 29, officers were dispatched to the 800th block of Mason Street in Warren after juveniles reported being shot at around 2 a.m.
When officers arrived on scene, they located several juveniles on the front porch of the home. According to a report, the juveniles told officers they were shot at while walking down the street, and jumped into a Jeep to avoid being hit.
Two bullet holes were located by officers in the hood of the Jeep, but the report states that it appears they were fired from the area of the garage, not from the street.
The homeowners also reported a window being shot out. After checking the window, officers believed the window was shot from inside the house.
According to a report, the outside corner walls of a bedroom also had a bullet hole in them that came from the outside of the home.
On Sunday, July 30, officers were dispatched to a home on the 900th block of Martha Street in Warren after a home and vehicle were shot at around 8p.m.
According to police, a resident said they were selling seat covers to a man when a vehicle drove down the street. The man buying the seat covers started shooting at the passing vehicle.
After the shooting, the male started looking through the grass, then left the residence.
During the shooting, the next door neighbor's vehicle was shot. The bullet skimmed along the passenger side of the vehicle and hit the side mirror.
