Thousands lost power late Monday after a power transformer blew and several power lines fell at the power substation near Camelot Lanes on Rte. 224 in Boardman.

According to Ohio Edison, about 2,900 residents and businesses in Boardman and 1,300 in Canfield were without power at 11 p.m.  By 4 a.m. Tuesday, power had been restored to all but about a half dozen utility customers.

Dozens took to social media talking about the outages, with reports coming from the Mill Creek Apartments, behind Blue Wolf Tavern, Camelot Lanes, and Meijer's Supermarket. 

Residents also reported outages at The Meadows, The Summit at Saint Andrews, Tippecanoe Estates, Huntington Woods, and on Indian Run, West Blvd, and Harrington Ave. 

As of 10:45, an Ohio Edison crew had arrived at the substation on Rt. 224 next to Camelot Lanes.
