Struthers teen going to prison for Warren shooting death

WARREN, Ohio - A Struthers teenager who was charged as an adult for a shooting death in Warren has been sentenced to prison for thirteen to eighteen years.
Christian Chaney, now 18 years old, pleaded guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery, and aggravated burglary on Tuesday, according to assistant Trumbull County Prosecutor Chris Becker, who says the sentence will be served in an adult prison.
The plea came in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court where Chaney had been charged as an adult for the February 5 shooting death of 29-year-old Adam Spaid.
Chaney was only 17 years old when he was on two counts of aggravated murder with a firearm specification, aggravated burglary with a firearm specification, and aggravated robbery with a firearm specification.
Spaid was shot several times on the 2100 Block of Milton Street SE and later died of his wounds.
Earlier this year a jury found co-defendant, 26-year-old Ronieque Requel guilty of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, having weapons while under a disability, intimidation of a witness, and receiving stolen property. Requel was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
