Fans of sci-fi franchises like Star Trek, Men In Black, Blade Runner and much more may have a new spot to see props from their favorite movies up close and personal.

21 News caught up with Trumbull County Historical Society Executive Director, Meghan Reed, who tells us she's looking to transform the property located at 410, Main Avenue SW into a museum similar to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame but for sci-fi movie props.

This idea came after famous Hollywood prop designer and Warren Native, John Zabrucky paid a visit to the city and donated some of his props to the historical society.

Those props are currently sitting in a warehouse, but Reed says she wants to share those props with the community by creating a museum that would give local families something to do on the weekend and attract guests from out of the area to check out the city.

Reed tells 21 News the museum is currently still in its planning stages with the Historical Society currently in the process of selecting architects to renovate the property, as well as developing a budget and plan.

Reed says she wants this museum to go beyond Zabrucky's work and tells us the Historical Society is currently looking at auctions with props they'd want to bid on from other designers.

Warren City Council is getting in on the fun as well with Councilman at Large, Ken Macpherson proposing $275,000 for the project at Wednesday's Board of Control meeting.

This funding would cover the cost of the building. The project as a whole would cost $25 million.
