As crews continue working on the diverging diamond interchange project in Howland, Trumbull County officials are announcing more closures that will affect the estimated 16,000 cars and trucks that travel each day along part of Route 46 in Howland.

According to a release from the Ohio Department of Transportation, State Route 46 under State Route 82 will be closed from Sunday, October 22 at 2 p.m. until Thursday, October 26th at 8 am.

The detour for SR 46 northbound traffic will be SR 82 eastbound to SR 193 to SR 82 westbound to SR 46. The detour for SR 46 southbound will be SR 82 westbound to Elm Rd. to SR 82 eastbound to SR 46.

Restrictions along SR 46 between Market St. and SR 422 will continue, as will lane restrictions on SR 82 between Elm Rd. and Howland Wilson Rd.

The ramp from E. Market St. to SR 82 will also remain closed through November of next year. Travelers can detour around the closure using E Market St, SR 46, and SR 82.

The project is expected to be completed sometime in the fall of 2026.
