Detectives are investigating an early morning shooting on Youngstown's Southside.

Police say one person was shot after midnight Monday on the 200 block of Gaither Avenue.

Officers have not yet released the identity of the victim, who as of 4 a.m. was alive and being treated at Mercy Hospital.

More information is expected from police later on Monday.
