Mill Creek MetroParks says nearly two dozen more deer were harvested during the third week of the park's controlled hunt.

Data from week three, which is October 15th to the 21st, showed 23 more deer killed by bow hunters.

That number is down from week two, which saw 38 deer killed. Week one results showed 26 deer harvested.

This brings the three week total to 86 deer harvested, so far.

No additional work was done by USDA sharpshooters during week three, so that number remains at 30.

The controlled hunts began on October 1st, in an effort to reduce the number of deer in the park. The park data that sparked this move showed an average of 387 deer per square mile.
