BERLIN CENTER, Ohio - Nearly 1,900 people in Mahoning County are without power after a car crashed into a utility pole and in Berlin Center Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred on the 6000 Block of South Pricetown Road.

According to FirstEnergy's outage map, Mahoning County experienced 1,892 outages as of 1:45 p.m. with 1,098 of those coming from Berlin Center meaning nearly 95% of the area was out of power.

Additionally, Goshen Township was reporting 416 outages, Smith Township was reporting 162, Milton Township was reporting 136 and Ellsworth Township was reporting 50.

As of 2:30 p.m., power has come back on for some within Berlin Center with the area experiencing 615 outages. Numbers for Smith, Milton and Ellsworth Townships remain the same.

Estimated restoration time for all of these outages is listed as 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Pictures and video sent to 21 News by a viewer shows a car with wires wrapped around it. 21 News crews on scene observed a car that appeared to be heavily damaged being towed away from the scene.

A deputy with the Mahoning County Sheriff's Department tells 21 News the crash happened after a female driver went off the road. At this point, it's unclear what exactly led up to the crash or if anyone was injured.
