Major reconstruction project planned for Youngstown's Industrial Road

Industrial Road in Youngstown may be getting a $2 million facelift.
"We have a lot of county offices over there. We have some businesses," Chuck Shasho, Youngstown's Deputy Director of Public Works said. "We want to make sure that road is a well traveled road to keep some of the traffic off of the residential streets."
The road is set for a complete reconstruction come 2025.
Right now, Industrial Road is closed for a waterline replacement because of several waterline breaks. The closure began Monday, October 16 between South Meridan and Bears Den Road for 60 days.
American Rescue Plan funds will pay for some of the reconstruction project along with local dollars, and some potential state grants. The city will need to bid in June of 2024 for the work to begin in 2025.
