CANFIELD, Ohio -  The Ohio Water Development Authority awarded nearly $1.2 million through low-interest loans to reduce flooding in part of Canfield.

The City of Canfield is receiving $1,188,898.50 at 3.61% for 20 years for the construction of 4,700 feet of storm sewer and a 450,000-gallon underground stormwater detention system near Canfield High School to reduce flooding.

The loan is included in $3.5 million in loans to Ohio communities to improve wastewater and drinking water infrastructure and make water quality improvements.
