Man convicted in Braceville firearms theft sentenced

One of four men convicted of stealing 34 guns from Rattlesnake Sporting Goods in Braceville has been sentenced.
Brendon Nichols, 28, has been sentenced to two years in prison with credit for time served for his role. He was also sentenced to a three-year term of supervised release, according to court records.
He was also mandated to pay restitution in the amount of $9,579.48. He will have to pay with three other co-defendants Daquantae Kimbrough, Yaniya Hill and Jalen McCall.
According to investigators, on March 6, 2023, Nichols, Kimbrough and Hill broke into Rattlesnake Hill Sporting Goods in Braceville Township and stole 34 guns while a fourth person, McCall waited outside the store, receiving at least two of the stolen firearms after the crime.
Kimbrough and Hill have also been convicted of theft from a federally licensed firearms dealer. McCall was found guilty of possessing a stolen firearm. All three are scheduled for sentencing on November 7.
So far, 24 of the 34 stolen firearms have been recovered, according to the government.
