Voting in Mercer County: What you need to know

The Municipal Primary Election will be held in the ninety voting districts of Mercer County on November 7, 2023. The polls will be open from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
In addition to Judicial races, for the Supreme, Superior, and Commonwealth courts, voters in Mercer County have a commissioner’s race to decide.
In addition, there are contested school director races in Farrell, Hermitage, Lakeview, Sharon, and Sharpsville.
The spot of Hermitage Commissioner is up for grabs, as well as Mercer Borough Mayor and Council.
Supervisor spots are contested in Shenango and South Pymatuning Townships.

Voter ID for First-Time Voters
When voting at a polling place for the first time, you must show proof of identification, either with a photo or not. Learn more about the types of ID you can show.
Approved forms of photo identification include:
- Pennsylvania driver’s license or PennDOT ID card
- ID issued by any Commonwealth agency
- ID issued by the U.S. Government
- U.S. passport
- U.S. Armed Forces ID
- Student ID
- Employee ID
If you do not have a photo ID, you can use a non-photo identification that includes your name and address.

- Non-photo ID issued by the Commonwealth
- Non-photo ID issued by the U.S. Government
