1998: Nearly 3,000 of the 7,200 employees of Delphi Packard Electric Systems will be eligible for retirement by the end of the year. The workforce has declined by 3,000 since 1980, at least partially through assembly work shifted to Mexico.
The Ohio Historic Preservation Office has sent a letter to Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church asking it to explore all options to avoid further deterioration of what's left of Idora Park. The most substantial remaining building is the ballroom.
