A Pittsburgh woman was arrested in Thanksgiving Day after a lengthy high speed chase through Mercer County.

According to Mercer County PSP, troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on I-79 in Mercer County shortly before 5:30 p.m. for an unspecified traffic violation.

Instead of stopping, Troopers say the driver, later identified as 32-year-old Britney Goodwine continued southbound on the interstate for approximately 45 miles.

Butler County PSP were called to assist and were successfully able to stop the vehicle with the use of a road spike to deflate her tires. The chase finally ended on I-79 near Wexford.

Goodwine was transported to the Mercer County Jail where she's charged with DUI, fleeing and eluding multiple traffic violations and multiple Act 64 violations.

She was arraigned on these charges on November 24 and is due back in court December 7 for a preliminary hearing.
