Ohio State Senator Mike Rulli to announce congressional run Monday

BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio - Ohio State Senator Michael Rulli is expected to officially announce a run for U.S. Congress on Monday.
According to his campaign, Rulli will announce his run for Ohio's 6th Congressional District seat Monday morning at the Mahoning County GOP Headquarters in Boardman.
Ohio's 6th Congressional District will soon be vacant due to Representative Bill Johnson accepting Youngstown State University's offer to become its 10th president. Johnson said he will start his new role at YSU on March 15, just four days before Ohio's March 19 primary election.
"I’ve been humbled by the outpouring of support in my decision-making process, and I’m hopeful that I will continue to represent Ohio Families as your next congressman,” Rulli said.
State Senator Rulli is serving his second term in the Ohio Senate, representing Mahoning and Columbiana counties.
He is part of the Rulli family who have owned Rulli Bros. Markets for over a century.
Before becoming a state senator, Rulli was a member of the Leetonia School Board.
