Youngstown Council considering pay increases for two unions and Clerk of Courts

YOUNGSTOWN - When Youngstown City Council meets Wednesday, members will consider legislation raising pay for an elected official and two labor unions.
Included on this week’s agenda is a four-year contract retroactive from this year that includes pay hikes totaling 9% for city clerks represented by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Local 2312.
Additionally, a tentative agreement with Youngstown Police Ranking Officers would increase pay by 2.5% in 2023, 2.5% in 2024, and another 2.5% in 2025.
Also, up for consideration is a measure that would increase the Youngstown Clerk of Courts salary from $67,389 to $74,570 per year. Under the emergency legislation, the pay hike would be retroactive to the first of this year.
