Howland Rite Aid on Elm Road closing

HOWLAND TWP., Ohio - Rite Aid is closing another location in the Valley as part of its bankruptcy organization.
According to a court document, the pharmacy chain is shutting down 18 more stores, including the one located at 2154 Elm Road NE in Howland.
When Rite Aid filed for bankruptcy the initial wave of 154 closings included the location on Market Street and East Indianola Avenue in Youngstown and the New Castle Store along Wilmington Road at West Clen Moore Road.
Since then, stores at Mahoning and Schenley Avenues on Youngstown's Westside and on Bradshaw Avenue in East Liverpool were added to the closing list.
The pharmacy chain had said there would be a "going out of business" sale at each store before closing, although a 21 News videographer found the Market Street store already closed when the bankruptcy was announced.
The store closings are part of the pharmacy chain's bankruptcy plan to reduce debt.
