Youngstown State University’s Office of Student Activities present Step Afrika! in a live performance, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20 in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus.

Step Afrika! blends percussive dance styles practiced by African American fraternities and sororities, traditional African dances, and an array of contemporary dance and art forms into a cohesive, compelling artistic experience. Performances are more than dance shows, they integrate songs, storytelling, humor, and audience participation.

Since its inception in 1994, Step Afrika! aims to preserve, expand, and share the history of this highly energetic dance. Its members accomplish this through performances in theaters and communities for more than 50,000 people annually.

The event is free and open to the public, parking is available for $5 at the M1 parking deck on Wick Ave.
