Columbiana Project Playground gets $10K grant for inclusive playground

A project looking to make fun more accessible for children at Firestone Park in Columbiana County has received another financial boost for its efforts.
Columbiana Project Playground has received a $10,000 grant from the Columbiana Community Foundation to continue its efforts in building an all inclusive playground structure at Firestone Park.
According to the organization, the money will go toward the second phase of the park project which will include collecting proposals and designs for the structure. It will cover the costs of fundraising, design renders, proposal fees and more.
The new structure will replace the current Funland Playground, a wooden playground that was constructed in the 90's but has since fallen into disrepair, according to the organization's website.
Now the organization is looking to make it more inclusive so children with various disabilities can enjoy it.
"Funland has long served as a cornerstone of our community, providing a space where children can play, learn, grow and create cherished memories," said Michaela Good, president of the Columbiana Project Playground. "This grant from the Columbiana Community Foundation represents a powerful endorsement of our mission and a testament to the foundation's commitment to investing in the well-being and inclusivity of our youth."
