St. Clair Township police have released the identity of a body was discovered in the woods off McCoy Avenue Monday evening. 

Police Chief Brian McKenzie identified the body as 31-year-old Steven Howard Green of East Liverpool. 

Police responded to a call around 5 p.m. on Monday, March 4, from an area resident about a possible deceased male body found in the woods. Upon arrival, the call was confirmed and the Columbiana County Coroner's Office was dispatched to the scene. Soon after, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Columbiana County Major Crimes Task Force were also called to come and collect evidence and assess the situation.  

According to Chief McKenzie, no foul play is suspected at this time, but police are still waiting on the results of an autopsy. The cause of death is still unknown at this time.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Tuesday to determine cause of death. 

As of now, the investigation is ongoing, and Chief McKenzie police are still collecting evidence and investigating the death.
