Howland's John Perry has committed to Grove City College to continue his academic and athletic journey in football with the hopes of also playing basketball for the Wolverines. 

Perry is a three-year football letterman, two-year basketball letterman, and three-year track and field letterman. He earned recognition as an AAC All-Conference athlete in both football and basketball.

Reflecting on his journey, John Perry shared, "I’m blessed and honored to get the opportunity to continue my athletic and academic career playing football for the PAC Champions at Grove City College. I have been working my whole life towards this. I look forward to helping the Wolverines build and compete for a national championship!"

Head Football Coach Brian Jones remarked, "John has had a tremendous impact on and off the field during his four years as a part of our football program. It is evident that John possesses all of the traits we were looking for in a leader from our quarterback position. His competitiveness and ability to bring out the best in his teammates will serve him well at the next level."

“John Perry is truly one of the most memorable athletes to pass through our school in recent memory,” remarked Logan Sheptock, head boys track and field coach. “He is the definition of a true competitor. Whether it’s football, basketball, or track, John never backs down from a challenge and will rise to any occasion.” 

Coach Bubon, head boys basketball coach, shared, "In basketball, John worked his way from a non-starter in middle school to a 2-year varsity starter, All-AAC 1st teamer as a senior, averaging a double-double. His journey is a testament to his grit and determination, showcasing his unwavering commitment to excellence."
