Youngstown woman pleads guilty to charges in VA fraud case

A Mahoning County woman pleaded guilty to forgery and attempted telecommunications fraud in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday.
According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, Lenda Ann West, 60, of Wirt Street, Youngstown, pleaded guilty to the fourth-degree felony of submitting a fraudulent honorable discharge form to apply for military benefits for $8,579. However, an investigation found that West was dishonorably discharged from the military.
According to prosecutors, West submitted the falsified form in August 2023, West had submitted a fraudulent honorable discharge form to apply for the benefits and
West could face a maximum combined sentence of three years in prison when sentenced later.
