STRUTHERS, Ohio - A Struthers man who previously pled guilty to child sex charges has learned his fate in court on Tuesday.

Nineteen-year-old Kyle Trimacco was sentenced to three years in prison followed by five years of post-release control on five counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor. He must also register as a tier 2 sex offender.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred back in 2023 when a 10-year-old boy was in contact with Trimacco via Xbox who told the boy he would send him Xbox gift cards in exchange for pictures of his genitals.

The boy sent three explicit pictures of himself to Trimacco.

During his sentencing, Trimacco apologized to the victim and his family.

"I know what I did was completely wrong and uncalled for and I do wholeheartedly regret it every day of my life. ... Not only have I hurt my friends and family and random strangers, but also the family of the victim and the victim himself," Trimacco said.

Judge Anthony D'Apolito says he could have given Trimacco a harsher sentence, but chose not to do so due to certain mental health conditions Trimacco has.

"As badly as I might feel for what you went through, I cannot discount what you did to this little boy. That's what makes this case sadder than most. I understand how you got here, but that can't excuse what you did," Judge D'Apolito said.
