YSU's Ward Beecher Planetarium will join Foxconn EV Systems in Lordstown to host a total solar eclipse viewing party April 8.

The event will take place at 2300 Hallock Young Road SW in Lordstown with gates opening at 1:00 p.m. and the event concluding at 4:00 p.m. No entry before 1:00 p.m. will be allowed.

Entrance to the event will be at the parking lot in front of the Foxconn building. Security will be present to assist with parking and viewing.

Telescopes with solar filters will be set up and operated by the YSU Physics and Astronomy and Ward Beecher Planetarium faculty and staff.

Eclipse glasses will be provided, but supplies are limited so guests are encouraged to bring their own. Guests are also encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and refreshments as these will not be provided during the event.

If you still need to get your eclipse glasses, the YSU Society of Physics and Students will have glasses for sale in Ward Beecher Hall room 2023 from Monday, April 1 until Thursday, April 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.

Glasses are $2 for two pairs or $5 for three, cash only.
