Mahoning Co. Library distributed 5,000+ eclipse glasses for Monday show

After all was said and done, The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County distributed more than 5,000 eclipse glasses so that Mahoning County residents could safely view the eclipse. More than 200 people also came to one of our branches to observe the eclipse on Monday afternoon.
"This is the kind of day that shows just how important libraries are to a community. We do our best to create a sense of community in our area and this is one of the ways we do it. Everyone coming together to witness, for what is for most, a once-in-a-lifetime event is extremely exciting," said Michael Stepp, PLYMC Strategic Communications Officer.
"...That is what libraries are all about – getting people the resources they need and providing them the opportunity to come together,” said Aimee Fifarek, Director & CEO of the PLYMC.
