A sentencing hearing is scheduled Tuesday for a Warren man who police say kicked a baby across a room.
Tyrell Williams, 27, pleaded guilty last month to two counts of felonious assault, two counts of kidnapping and one count of endangering children.
The charges were filed after a July 2023 incident where Williams and the mother of his child got into a fight. Police say Williams punched the woman and kicked her one-year-old across the room before body-slamming the woman while she was holding the child.
Police noted in their report that the woman's face was swollen and cut after the fight. The child also had a red mark on his face and a bloody lip.
About a month after the incident, Williams was found in the Chicago area and was arrested.
Williams, who was convicted of domestic violence in 2018, faces a maximum sentence of more than 40 years in prison.
