From a blow dryer to a razor, the salon can create sensory overload for children with special needs.

Mahoning Valley native and long-time hair stylist, Alyse March saw a need in the community and decided to open a sensory-friendly salon suit called 'Friendly Facez' for children with autism & developmental delays.

"There [was] no place for these children to go and feel comfortable, to feel like they don't have to be anxious or scared," March said.

Located inside of the Color Whipped Hair Studio  at 2959 Canfield Rd., it is a one room suite that eliminates typical salon sounds and bright lights, while providing kids with a variety of activities to occupy their attention.

As the only sensory salon suite in the Valley, March hopes to create more of them in the future.  She accepts clients by appointment only and can be contacted through her Facebooks page here
