First responders are trying to clean up the storm damage that ripped through the Portage County community of Windham on Wednesday.

Several homes were damaged along Windham Parkman Road at around 7 p.m., bringing down trees and wires.

Due to the damage, authorities shut down traffic between Route 82 and Geneva Drive.

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, three semi-tractor trailers were involved in an accident along the turnpike. One of the trucks rolled over, slowing eastbound traffic beyond State Route 44.

A hazmat crew was called to keep diesel fuel from flowing into nearby streams.

Wires are down along a nearly half mile long stretch of State Route 303 west of the town center.

As of 8 p.m. Wednesday, FirstEnergy reported 266 homes and businesses without power in Windham. It's estimated power will be back on by 10:30 p.m.
